Ethical Policy

Ethics of Scientific Publishing:

Research should comply with the ethical standards for research in each country and/or region. Therefore, authors must obtain the necessary authorizations.

If patient images are used, the authors must ensure the protection of their identity and privacy.

In this regard, the editorial adheres to the Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals, developed by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), which can be consulted at the following link: https://www.icmje.org/recommendations/translations/spanish2021.pdf

 

Research involving experimental animals and/or humans:

If the research submitted to the editorial involves experimental animals or human subjects, authors must ensure compliance with the Ethical Code proposed in the Declaration of Helsinki (http://doi.org/10.1001/jama.2013.281053) or its Spanish version (https://www.wma.net/es/policies-post/declaracion-de-helsinki-de-la-amm-principios-eticos-para-las-investigaciones-medicas-en-seres-humanos/).

Authors must obtain informed consent from all study participants and explicitly state it in the manuscript.

For Randomized Controlled Trials, authors must have approval from the Clinical Research Ethics Committee (or equivalent according to the regulations of the country of origin), declare the funding for the trial, and be registered and endorsed by a public clinical trial registry
(ej. www.clinicaltrials.gov)

 

Conflict of Interest

All authors must disclose any personal or financial relationships with individuals or organizations that could inappropriately influence (bias) their work.

In this regard, the editorial adheres to the Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals, developed by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), which can be consulted in section II-B-2 at the following link: https://www.icmje.org/recommendations/translations/spanish2021.pdf

If there is no conflict of interest, authors should state in the corresponding section: "Conflicts of interest: none."

If there are conflicts of interest, the authors of the article must declare them in the corresponding section (Conflicts of Interest) and attach the Conflict of Interest Disclosure form provided by the ICMJE (https://www.icmje.org/downloads/coi_disclosure.docx). he information in the disclosure must match that of the submitted manuscript.

 

Funding

Authors should disclose the details of the institution(s) that provided financial support for the research and/or preparation of the article. Additionally, they should briefly describe the role played by the sponsors in the study design, data collection, analysis and interpretation, manuscript writing, or decision to submit the article for publication. If there was no involvement from any sponsors, please indicate it as well.
